The Ngapuhi, with 4-1 passengers and 150 tons of general cargo, arrived at New Plymouth at 5.30 o’clock yesterday morning from Onehunga and berthed at the Newton King wharf. She left at 7 o’clock last evening for Auckland, being due here again early on Tuesday morning. DEPARTURE OF RIMUTAKA. The New Zealand Shipping Company’s liner Rimutaka after putting out 1185 tons of general London cargo here is expected to sail early this morning for Oamaru to commence Home-ward loading. WAIHEMO’S SCHEDULE. ) ■ The Waihemo is scheduled to load at Pacific Coast ports towards the end of this month and early in February for papier, Lyttelton, Dunedin, Nelson and New Plymouth. She is to clear Los Angeles on February 8, and is due at Napier on March .5, and at New Plymouth late the same month. DANISH MOTOR SHIP. The Danish motor-ship Indien, which has been discharging cargo from Pacific C’oast Canadian and American ports at Auckland, sailed last evening for Wellington and Sydney to complete discharge. The vessel is under charter to the Union Company. DURENDA FOR WELLINGTON. The British India Shipping Company’s motor-ship Durenda, which has been discharging cargo from Calcutta at Auckland since Wednesday, sailed for Wellington last evening to complete discharge. The Union Company is the agent. CARGO FROM AUSTRALIA. In the Union Company’s intercolonial cargo service, the steamer Kaimiro will load at South Australian ports about tho third week in February and will complete her cargo at Melbourne and Hobart before sailing for Dunedin, Lyttelton, Wellington and Auckland. WHITE STAR, COMMANDS,.. News has been received that Captain James J. Kearney, late of the Baltic, has been appointed commander of the White Star liner Adriatic, in succession Captain V. W. Hickson, who recently retired. Captain E. Davis, formerly of the Athenic, has taken command of the Baltic. Born in Cork in 1870, Captain Kearney joined the White Star Line in 1896, and has served in some of the famous old White Star ships, including the Teutonic.
