WAR OFFICE ESTIMATES CUT
SAVING OF £1,500,000 EXPECTED.

Rec. 10.45 p.m. London, Jan. 16. The Government has drastically revised the War Office estimates and expects a saving of £1,500,000, which will be devoted to social services, says the Daily Herald. It is hinted elsewhere that Mr. Snowden will impose a supertax on incomes of £lOOO upwards and increase death duties.
