CRICKET MATCH WITH lIAWERA.
A cricket match lias been arranged to be played at Inglewood on Thursday between teams representing Hawera and Inglewood. The following will represent Inglewood: P. Speedily, D. Allen, G. Barry, P. Peacock, F. Duncan, A. Thomason, J. Parfitt, R. Evetts, V. Devereux, J. Gamlin and R. Spurdie. Mr. Colin Evans became suddenly ill on Friday afternoon and was .removed to the New Plymouth hospital, where he w«e immediately operated on for appendicitis. Tho latest report states that his condition is satisfactory. Tho senior pupils of tho Inglewood school made a very successful effort to raise fund© for additions to the elans libraries by holding a mart on the breaking-up day, when £lB 12s was raised. The winners of the competitions in connection with tho mart were: — Lamb, Mrs. Walker; chocolates, W. Carrington; Christmas cake, Mrs. Iluzclden.
