OPPERMAN’S TIME LOWERED. By Telegraph.— Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. At the Manukau ' Amateur Cycling Club's sports at Western Springs Stadhim to-night A. Mackie, formerly of Christchurch, broke the five-mile motorpaeed record established by H. Opperman, the Australian champion, .at Christchurch last week. Mackie’s time was 7min. 32 2-ssec., against Opperman’s Bmin. 27sec. Mackie was paced by hie brother. WMackie, former holder of the New Zealand cycling championship.
