TEST FOR SPIRITUALISM
YOUNG MAN’S WISH TO TAKE LIFE. FAMILY WAS IN DIRE POVERTY. By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. London, Dec. 29. “lam willing to commit suicide to test the truth of spiritualism,” was the amazing declaration of a young man who walked into the office of the Sunday Chronicle. “Do not think I am mad. My family is down and out, and £2O will sav< them. Pay me in cash, and I will throw myself from the Thames Embankment and will then try to communicate from whatever existence I find myself in order to test the claims of spiritualism.”
The story of his starving family was found to be true. The man was persuaded to give up his rash-proposal.
