CUT OUT “AUSTRALASIA”

CONFUSION WITH DOMINION.

(By Wire —Special to News.) Auckland, Last Night.

The word “Australasia” must be cut out; it- is no good to New Zealand overseas,” said Mr. J. M. Hyarns, Auckland, who returned from a world tour- by the Aorangi. “New Zealand is not known in Europe,” he continued.’ “It is known an Australasia. W’hat this Dominion wants is more publicity and plenty of it. When you buy American maps to look for New Zealand you will find it placed off the coast of South Africa. That’s a fact, and it is no laughing matter. That word Australasia has been responsible for it all. “The New Zealand Government should make a most extensive publicity campaign throughout Europe and America. One feels ashamed when people ask you where you come from and you say New Zealand, and they reply, ‘New Zealand? I’ve never heard of it! ’Where is it?’”
