HECTOR GRAY EXONERATED. INQUIRY INTO PEGAWAY’S RACE. Auckland, Dec. 30. The inquiry into the riding of Pegaway in the Christmas Handicap, which commenced after that race on Thursday, was concluded after the King’s Plate had been run. After hearing the evidence and explanation of. the jockey, H. Gray (who rode Hunting Cry and to-day) > the stewards decided that no action was necessary.
