The fourth round of the New Zealand chess championship tourney resulted: — Gunderson beat Topp, Erskine beat Rutherford, Anderson beat Beyer, Scott beat Jeffreys, Severne beat Fairburn, Pleasants beat Hicks, Purdy beat Kelling. 'The positions of the players at the end of the fourth round is:—Anderson 3J points, Severne 34, Kelling 24, Erskine 24, Gundersen 24, Purdy 2, Scott 2, Beyer 2, Jeffreys 2.
