Mr. G. V. Pearce, formerly M.P. for Patea, was a visitor to the New Plymouth races yesterday.
Mr. Thomas Frederick Martin, barrister and solicitor and an old citizen of Wellington, has died, reports the Press Association. Mr. Martin, who had been ailin" for the past two months, died at his home in Upland Road on Christmas morning.
Mr E. B. Ellerm, librarian at the Leys'institute, Auckland, is on a visit to New Plymouth. Mr. and Mrs. P. Douglass, Mr. and Mrs F. Boulton, and Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Beadle leave in the New Year on a holiday trip to England. Mr. Edwin C. East, of Auckland, is spending the legal vacation m New I mouth. A boy named Wall, Wanganui, fell from a slide at Kawaroa Park, New Plymouth, yesterday and injured his bead. Ho was taken to hospital and his condition is reported to be favourable.
