Rifleman Johnson, Featherston, . was runner-up with 47, he gaining that position in a count back in which three others figured. : Rifleman T. W. Warburton, Petone, headed the list in the Taranaki match, ten shots at 500 yards. His score was 47. The award was made on a count back. Rifleman J. C. Cunningham, Hawera, was runner-up.
