VICTORIA COLLEGE TEAM'S TOUR. MATCH AGAINST TARANAKI B. Finality has now been reached in the negotiations between the Taranaki Cricket Association and the Victoria University College Club (Wellington) regarding a proposed match between the club and a Taranaki team at Christmas. Following upon a meeting of the -emergency executive of the association on Tuesday night, a proposal was made to the Wellington Club that they play a Taranaki B team at Hawera on the dates mentioned by them (December 26 and 27). As an alternative, in case the touring team had a visit to New Plymouth specifically in view, it was stated that if the team found Hawera unacceptable the match could be played at New Plymouth on the High School ground. It was stressed, however, that the association would prefer the match to be played at- Hawera if possible. The association received the following reply from Wellington yesterday: “Will play you New Plymouth 26th and 27th; arrive evening 25th; leave mornin<r 28th; please arrange accommodation ten players.” The Taranaki selectors have accordingly been asked to select a Taranaki B representative team as soon as possible in order that the players may make the necessary arrange meuts. The Taranaki A team will be engaged in a match against Wanganui at Pukekura Park, New Plymouth, on Christmas Day and Boxing Day. .
