STUDENTS GOING WITH BYRD
APPOINTMENT ON SUPPLY SHIP.

Christchurch, Last Night. Two Canterbury College students are leaving with the Byrd expedition ship City of New York for the explorers' base on the ice barrier early in January.
Mr. Gavin L, H. Samson, Dunedin, an electrical engineering student in Christchurch, has been appointed assistant wireless operator of the supply ship. He is a well-known wireless amateur enthusiast.
Mr. Neville H. Newbold, M.Sc., also of Dunedin, an engineering student at Canterbury College, is the other member to go. They expect to return before the 1930 session.
