REQUEST TO JUSTICEC MINISTER.

Wilford met this week a deputation" from the Women’s Social Pro•gross movement, which asked linn, as Minister of Justice, for amended legislalion to prevent tho consumption of liquor at cabarets and halls for dancing. Mr. Wilford, having read reports from the four centres, now states that he considers the local restrictions'which can be made by the city councils should provide a satisfactory solution of the iiiat't er. ,
