TAUMARANUI FANCIES
KUITI AND TAKAPUNA FORM
The Taumarunui gathering to-day Is always a popular country fixture, but good stakes offered attract fair class fields. Patrons at this meeting will be guided, to a large extent, by the form shown at Te Kuiti and Takapuna recentNassau Lady has been racing so contdstently that she seems a likely one to jOatch the judge’s eye among those in jtho Trial Plate. Antique and Parfait Amour have shown a turn of speed at .times.
Abbess ran a good race at Te Kuiti, Jjvnd in a weak field in the hack six may have a call over Rose Lupin, who showed pace as a two-year-old last season. In her best mood Ohinemuri would jnako a meal of the cup field, but she has not been racing with her usual consistency. However, it seems likely that the full-sister to To Monanui will have a ca.il over Gloria Buy and Wenday. ,In the Matapuna Handicap there are home speedy hacks, but in this field of= (22, the luck of the draw and start will play a big part. If fortune favours jMJetle, Joy (inrm and White Ringlet in the early stages, they may bo found disputing the issue.
Archeen has made good at the hurdling branch of the sport, and though Master Roley is meeting the Marble Arch gelding on nine pounds better terms than at Te Kuiti, many will prefer Archeen.
Macrooin’a best form would give her a great chance in the Flying Handicap, -but Billikins will be the public choice.
Tuku has been promising a lot, and a, repetition of his Te Kuiti form should give him preference over Terrapcen in the Matiero Handicap. The programme concludes with the Owhango Handicap. Glena Bay if started hero would be a warm fancy. In his absence Unoco and Cybele would advance in favour.
