NEW PLYMOUTH SWIMMING
RACES AT FITZROT CLUB NIGHT.
A record attendance of 80 members of tho Fitzroy Life Saving Club was at the New .Plymouth baths last night. There was a large number of entries in the first series of races, which were all over a 25 yards course. During the evening about 10 club members coached the swimmers.
The results of the races arc.---Boys under 17. —Eddlestone 1, Snowden 2, Johnson 3. Men’s. —Twoorhey 1, Parkinson 2, J, Hetherington 3. Girls under 17. —Miss J. Davidson I, Miss D. Cock 2, Miss J. McCallum 3. Ladies.—Misses J. Charters and C. Marsh equal 1, N. Henderson 3.
The next races of this series will be swum at tho next club night (Thursday). A deputation from the New Plymouth and Fitzroy Clubs met Mr. R. Day at the baths and final arrangements for the altered position of the ’high diving board were made.
