WAIKATO DIOCESE DISPUTE
“SUITABILITY” OF DEAN BARNETT. COMMISSION TO MAKE INQUIRY. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Hamilton, Nov. 30. After protracted'negotiations a document has been signed by the Bishop of Waikato and Dean Barnett agreeing that Archbishop Averill shall appoint a commission to inquire into the question raised by the Bishop of Waikato as to the suitability of Dean Barnett to retain the Deanery. The commission will consist of Archbishop Averill and two Auckland assessors, a clergyman and layman. The evidence will be heard privately in Hamilton. In the interim the injunction of the Supreme Court restraining, the Bishop of Waikato from taking other action against the Dean will probably be withdrawn.
