PIGEON RACING

EGMONT HOMING CLUB. The first Picton race was flown by the Egmont (New Plymouth) Homing Club last Saturday. The birds wore liberated by Captain Kane, s.s. Tamahine, at 8 a.m. He reported a nor’-west wind at the point of liberation. The Pellew Shield was competed for in this race. The winner had a comfortable win by nearly seven minutes, and the times, under the weather conditions prevailing, were very good. The places were filled as follows:— N.
