AUCKLAND HOUSE ABLAZE

SHOP AND HOME DESTROYED. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. A house and an adjoining shop owned by M. Ravlick in a ' block of shops in Mount Albert were destroyed by fire early this morning. The screams of their son, aged seven, aroused Mr. and Mrs. Ravlick, and the family made a hurried escape in night attire. Mr. Ravlick rushed into the shop and secured a cash register containing £5O and cheques. Nothing else was saved from the house or shop. The adjoining shops were undamaged. Mr. Ravliek’s stock was insured for £3OO in the South British but was estimated to be worth £7OO. The building was covered for £lOOO in the same office. There was no policy on the house furniture.
