IMPROVEMENTS AT SEASIDE. ' (From Our Own Correspondent.) A committee meeting of the Waitara Seaside Society was held on Wednesday. The secretary reported that-the recent mart netted £ll 4s sd. It was stated, that £5 would' complete the £2OO required for the tea kiosk building fund, but that finance was urgently needed to meet ordinary expenses. An active canvass is to be made to dispose of membership tickets. Tenders are to be called for the use of the beach shop. . The secretary reported that the bathing shed had been disfigured by some miscreant and that the matter had-been placed in the hands of the'police. It was decided to tar the shed and organise a working bee for a general cleanup. Permission was granted the municipal band to give a concert on the reserve on December 1. The Waitara branch of the United Party Political League held its annual meeting on Wednesday evening, Mr W. J. Morrison presiding. Mr. S. G. Smith, member for the district, was present and gave a brief resume of the political situation. He was accorded a vote of thanks. Officers for the year were elected and other routine matters transacted.
