WEDDINGS

KRAMER—CONDON. . The marriage took place at St. John’s Church, Durban, oii September 25 of the late Mrs. Condon, and neice of Mr. Miss Acquinas Condon, of Kurow, and E. J. Massey, Manaia, to Mr. Walter Kramer, of Gingindhlovo, Zululand, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. Kramer, of New Hanover. The Rev. Father Fairburn officiated at the ceremony. The bride, who was given away by Mrs. Christie, Lady Superintendent of the Nurses’ Residence, chose a dainty frock of floral chiffon patterned in brown and rose shades over a slip of white satin. The tight-fitting bodice had long sleeves which fell away from just below the elbow in wide flareo, and the full skirt' with its swallow-tail droop had a deep hem of pink. Her becoming hat of Baku straw had soft roses of pink chiffon caught on the drooping brim, and she carried a lovely sheath of pink roses and fern. . Miss Eileen Kramer, who. was her sole attendant, wore a pretty frock of primrose coloured ninon with hat and shoes to match, and carried primroses, daffodils and yellow sultans. . After the ceremony a reception was held. Among .the numerous guests present were a number of visitors from Zululand, and members of the nursing staff of the Nurses’. Residence, of which the bride is a popular member. The presents included a, silver tea and coffee service from - the nursing staff.

RUSSELL—WILKIE

The wedding was celebrated at St. John’s Presbyterian Church, Hawera, on November 16, of Grace Irene Wilkie, second daughter of Mrs. R. Somervell, Wellington, and Stanley Lionel Russell, second son of Mr. and Mrs. J. G. Russell, New Plymouth. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Evans and Mr. Rowe officiated at the organ. The bride, who entered the church.on the arm of • her brother-in-law, Mr. A. Muggeridge, wore a frock of shell pink satin with beautiful silver lace on an uneven hem line, the skirt being ankle length at the back with tight bodice and sleeves and lace medici collar finished:with pink tulle bow and orange blossom at the waist line and pale pink and silver shoes. The veil of shell pink tulle and' silver bells was completed with a ringlet of orange blossom, and she carried a lovely bouquet- of pink roses, aquilegia, ranunculus and maiden hair fern. A picturesque grouping was effected by three bridesmaids, Miss M. Shaw (Hawera), Miss R. Whiting and Miss K. Wilkie, sister of the bride (New Plymouth). The bridesmaid’s frocks were of pale green georgette with tight bodices and flared sleeves with flared petalled skirts dipping to the left. They wore hatg of lemon crinoline straw finished with dainty lace edge and lemon satin court shoes and stocking to match, and carried bouquets of lemon to autumn tints. The bridegroom was attended by Mr. G. F. B. Day (New Plymouth) as bestman, and Messrs. C. S. Wood and M. Ford (New Plymouth) as groomsmen. Mrs; R, Somervell, who wore biscuit coloured . crepe de chine with. la.ee and red straw hat carried a bouquet of red roses and maiden hair fern to match, entertained her guests after.the ceremony at the Savoy Tea Rooms. Mrs. Russell, mother of the bridegroom was in navy -crepe de chine, touched with pink with navy hat to match, and carried a bouquet of red roses and maiden hair fern. The bride wore for her travelling dress a dainty frock of dove grey crepe de chine, trimmed with pink with shoes and stockings to match, and-a toque of pink roses, with black fur coat trimmed with fawn and black opossum fur collar and cuffs. Mr. and Mrs. Russell left by car for the south, mdist showers of confetti’ and good wishes.

MEDICAL WEDDING.

NEW ZEALAND BRIDE. London, Oct. 18. The wedding of Dr. Kenneth H. T. Tallerman and Dr. Alice Campbell Rose, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Duncan Rose, of Otago, took place at the Essex Church, London, on October 11. The church was decorated with palms and chrysanthemums in autumnal colourings. The bride wore, a frbek of cream lame which was gracefully draped, almost touching the ground on the left side, and an old Honiton laee veil, lent by Dr. and Mrs. Edward Seymour, with whom she stayed prior to the wedding. It was held by a cluster of orange blossom. She carried a bouquet of white heather and was given away by her cousin. Dr. Menzies, of Kensington. The bridesmaid, Miss Sheila Cheyney, wore a pale green printed silk chiffon-dress and a green picture hat. She carried a bouquet of pink roses and a shagreen vanity case. Dr. Moncrieff was best man. The reception was held at la, Henrietta Street, Cavendish Square, and about 2000 guests were present. They were received by Mrs. Wolf, the bridegroom’s mother. Mrs. Rose, mother of the bride, was unable, owing to ill-health, to come to England for her daughter's wedding. A strong medical interest attaches to this weddin».
