The pacemakers were Limber Up, Some Quality, Octember, and Red Sea, but .at the home turn Lineage and Taisho were the leaders. There was a good fight up the straight, where Cimbrian overhauled Lineage and won by half a neck, with two lengths between second and third. Opera Queen was fourth. Time, 2min. 31fsec.
