CIMBRIAN WINS IN GOOD FINISH. TAISHO RUNS THIRD TO LINEAGE. By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. Rec. 10 p.m. Melbourne, Nov. 11. The racing carnival in Victoria closed to-day with the Williamstown Cup meeting, which was run in ideal weather. Details are:— WILLIAMSTOWN CUP, Of £2600. One mile and a half. CIMBRIAN, A. T. Creswick’s b. c., 7.8 (Phillips) ; 1 LINEAGE, D. Mackinnon’s b. f., 7.0 (Elliott) 2 TAISHO, J. P. Arthur’s br. g., 7.8 (O’Brien) 3 Fifteen started. The pacemakers were Limber Up, Some Quality, Octember, and Red Sea, but .at the home turn Lineage and Taisho were the leaders. There was a good fight up the straight, where Cimbrian overhauled Lineage and won by half a neck, with two lengths between second and third. Opera Queen was fourth. Time, 2min. 31fsec.
