WEATHER IMPROVING.

By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The weather will still be unsettled with showers in most districts, but will improve from the west and south. There will be mist on the east coast between Kaikoura and Napier. Temperatures will be colder, with some frosts inland in the South Island. There will be moderate to strong northerly winds over the North Island and moderate to fresh southerlies elsewhere. Southerlies will gradually become general and will freshen about Cook Strait. Seas will be rough in Cook Strait and north of East Cape, rising south of Castlepoint but smooth or moderate elsewhere.
