DUPLICATING CABLE NECESSARY. (British Official Wireless). Rugby, Oct. 10. Following the rapid increase in telephone calls between Britain and Europe, tho firm of Siemens Brothers, Woolwich, has received an important contract to make and lay a new AngloBelgium cable. It is estimated the cost will considerably exceed £100,090. ’ The cable, over 75 miles in length, will be a duplicate of tho land and submarine line laid on the same route in 1926. The work will begin almost at once.
