Following the rapid increase in telephone calls between Britain and Europe, tho firm of Siemens Brothers, Woolwich, has received an important contract to make and lay a new AngloBelgium cable. It is estimated the cost will considerably exceed £100,090. ’ The cable, over 75 miles in length, will be a duplicate of tho land and submarine line laid on the same route in 1926. The work will begin almost at once.
