A HAIRBRUSH. HINT.

Even after washing in cold water with ammonia (one teaspoonful to a quart of water) and rinsing also in cold water, the bristles of hair brushes and clothes brushes are apt to remain soft, .The best remedy for this is to dip them in a strong solution of alum water. But if this is not available, dip them in equal parts of milk and water, which acts almost as well, and dry them carefully in front of a fire. When an invalid has to lie down for a great part of the day, much comfort is derived from the use of a firm pillow or cushion placed under the knees.
