ASSOCIATION > MEETING HELD. FIXTURES FOR THE FIRST ROUND ' The annual meeting of s tho North Taranaki Country. Cricket Association was held in .the Bell. Block hall last night. Mr. H, C. Sampson presided over an attendance of delegates from Tikorangi, Bell Block, Brixton, -Egmont Village and Tarurutangi. The report and balance-sheet were adopted. Tho balance-sheet showed a credit of- £4 3s 2d.. ■ The association should, make an ,ef-. fort to get balls for use in their -representative matches, said Mr. Gibson. Apart from the fact that the ball was better to handle he considered .that as a point of etiquette, visitors should be given a good ball to play with. ■lt was decided that, a new first-class ball be provided for. every home representative : match. TRAVELLING TEAMS. It was decided that teams travelling to South Taranaki go by btis, the bus arrangements to be made by the secretary. The secretary was also instructed to notify the means of travelling through the Press. Mr. H. C. Sampson was appointed official umpire for tho B representative team. A letter was received from the North Taranaki Cricket Association requesting a Town versus' Country fixture on October 12 at Tikorangi. The Country Association agreed to play the match, to begin at 10.30 a.m. and stumps to be drawn at 4 p.m. The meeting, decided ,to ask Mr. P. Sarten to select the Country team. : „ Officers for the ensuing years, .were elected as follow: President, Mr. H. Foreman; vice-president, Mr. B. Sampson; ' secretary and treasurer, Mr. S. Sampson; chairman of committee, Mr. C. Foreman; delegate North Taranaki Cricket Association, Mr. Gibson and i Mr. S. Sampson; selector, Mr. P. I It was decided that delegates be appointed from clubs for each, team, these to form the committee. Discussion took place on the playing of A team men in B grade teams. Several members held that the composition of the teams should be kept separate as far as possible. It was agreed finally to leave the matter to the discretion of the clubs. ' OPENING . DAY ARRANGED.' It was decided to play three rounds, competitions to be opened on October 19. Matches are to begin at 10 a.m., with the drawing of stumps at 3.30 in the afternoon. Mr. J.
