On the grass track, Tidal defeated Limerick by half a length over a mile in 1.43 J. Limerick pulled up bettor, although slightly distressed. Tidal was somewhat cramped in front. Mr. H. A. Knight, owner of Limerick, was present to see his horse work. He

stated later he was satisfied with Limerick’s condition and the horse would bo given another strong gallop on Thursday. He would then be able to decide on Limerick’s future movements. Nightmarch led Kidaides by half a length over eight furlongs in. 1.43. The two-year-olds Pomp and Pedestal ran four furlongs in 55<sec. comfortably. Paquito easily beat Bright Glow over eight furlongs in 1.441. Perception did a similar distance in 1.43, as did Rbyal Gold, who defeated Tarapunga. Stormy led Becalmed over five furlongs in 1.4. Crucis defeated Winalot by four lengths over ten furlongs in 2.8. The Derby colt Caradale covered seven furlongs in 1.294. Loquacious ran seven furlongs in 1.27.
