N.S.W. COAL MINE PROBLEM
QUESTION FOR LEGISLATURE. ARE OWNERS’ LEASES FORFEIT? By Telegraph—Press Assn. —Copyright. Sydney, Sept. 27. Tho Crown Solicitor, Mr. J. V. Tillett, has advised Mr. T. R. Cax ' in ’ Premier of New South Wales, that the northern coal owners had rendered their leases liable to cancellation through failure to employ men. The covenants provide that a certain number of competent hands be employed and, unless prevented by accident, the mines must be worked on all lawful working days. The question therefore is whether the non-employment, owing to the present dispute, is an accident. Mr.- Tillett is of opinion that owners
