WAITARA HOME DESTROYED

STARTLING SPREAD OF FLAMES. Another fire occurred at Waitara last night. Mr. Clifford Tanner’s six-roomed residence was completely gutted and nothing. of-value was saved, states the News correspondent. Mr. Tanner was working in the kitchen and chatting with a neighbour just before ten o’clock when they heard a crash in the front of the house. Thinking a picture had fallen Mr. Tanner went to the front and discovered the house was ablaze. He had only time to rescue two children sleeping in a front room and one in a back room before the whole place was in flames. The house was insured for £4OO in the Standard Office and the. contents for £l5O with the Farmers’ Mutual Company. -
