ST. AUBYN METHODIST GUILD

FAREWELL TO PRESIDENT. There was a large attendance of members of the St. Aubyn Methodist Ladies' Guild and friends in the St. Aubyn school hall yesterday at a farewell to Mrs. Nelson Hill, president of the guild, who is removing to the other end of New Plymouth. The Rev. G. S. Cook presided and an enjoyable programme arranged by Miss Cannell and Airs. Hawkins was rendered. This comprised a piano solo by Airs: Fredric, songs by Airs. Berg and Airs. Keith Jones, duets by Aliss Cannell and Airs. Hawkins, and a monologue and recitation by Aliss Pat Milne. Afternoon tea was dispensed by the ladies’ guild. Airs. Alclsaac, as the ’oldest member of the guild, presented Airs. Hill with a rocking chair as a token of esteem. She spoke of the. fine association of workers represented in the guild and their regret at the loss of such a capable and tactful leader.

The Rev. G.- S. Cook also spoke in appreciation of the good work being done for the church, by the guild, and the able ami pleasant manner in which Mrs. Hill Lad discharged the duties of president. Airs. Hill thanked the members for their gifts, and the appreciation and loyal support which had created a happy atmosphere in all the guild meetings and efforts. She bespoke the same support and encouragemept for her successor.
