SUCCESSFUL BAND EUCHRE. The popularity of the weekly band euchre party still continues. Despite the rough weather on Monday evening twelve tables were engaged, the winners being:—Ladies: Mrs. Lindsay 1, Mrs. Egarr 2, Mrs. J. Ford consolation. Men: Mrs. F. Julian 1, Mrs. Wilson 2, Miss M. Mischefski (ail playing as men) consolation. The series will be continued next Monday.

The Inglewood Volunteer Fire Brigade has received a donation of one guinea from Airs. G. Stevens.

It is the intention of the Inglewood Swimming Club to hold a euchre party and dance in the town hall on September 12. The club has been very prominent in swimming matters during the last few years and if the same vigour is put into the social function as that which characterised the club’s swimming carnivals, it should, be a success. On Thursday evening in the Parish Hin.ll under the auspices of the Inglewood branch of the New Zealand Farmers’ Union Mr. W. Webster, M.R.C.V.S., Government veterinary surgeon, will give an address on diseases in stock. At the conclusion of the address Mr. Webster will be prepared to answer questions. It is 'hoped that there will be a large attendance, as this should be of great interest to farmers.

The annual bulb show and sale of work in- connection with St. Andrew’s Anglican Church will take place on September 19. This promises to be one of the most attractive and successful shows held here, as the ladies have been working unceasingly for some time past to assure this being the most successful show ever held here.
