FIRE DESTROYS HOME
OCCUPANTS’ HURRIED ESCAPE. By Telegraph. —Press Association. Masterton, Last Night. An old eight-roomed, two-storey house at Kopuaranga, owned and occupied by E. J. Wright, was completely destroyed by fire early this morning. Mr. and Mrs. Wright and their child had a somewhat narrow escape from the burning building, making their exit huriedly from a window and clad in night attire only. ■ The outbreak was discovered by one of the occupants between midnight a™ 1 a.m., the fire then having a big hold. The fire apparently started in the front portion of the building. The house was insured, together with the contents, f Ol £5OO. An adjoining outbuilding, which was also destroyed, was insured tor £3O. The whole of the contents was lost.
