ROUGH WEATHER PREDICTED.

Wellington, Last Night.
The weather will be unsettled and squally generally, with rain in most districts, snow on the highlands and thunder in places, says the evening forecast. Temperatures will be mild at first' but a cold change will advance from the south during, the next 24 hours, improving later on the west coast of the South Island. Winds will be from the northwest north of Westport and Akaroa, and elsewhere from south-west to south, southerlies gradually becoming general and strong ,to gale. Seas in New Zealand waters will be moderate in coastal waters on the east coast, but will rise later, especially south of Castlepoint'. Elsewhere seas will be rough to heavy. In the Tasman Sea there will be strong southerly winds to gales and rough seas in the eastern Tasman, with the weather unsettled.
