Following tlie election of a Ngam.itu seaside general committee ki.it week, a meeting of citizens of Moturoa interested in the welfare of the treaeh was held at the palladium on Saturday night. There was a fair attendance of the public, over which Mr. R. Glengarry was elected to preside. In accordance with the decision of tlie New Plymouth Borough Coincil that representatives should be elected to an executive of nine in whose hands would rest the control of the beacr, Messrs. L. Fitzpatrick, F, Hill, E. G'Dea, H. Saunders and H. Pentelow were appointed to represent the seaside general committee. Messrs. G Roper, W. Hunter, P. J. Bartholomew and R. Glengarry were elected representatives to serve on the Ngamotu Seaside Resort Company. Following a recommendiUo.i from the public meeting last week that the Harbour Board be- approached with a view to obtaining a more definite security of tenure, Messis. Roper, Hunter, Bartholomew and Glengarry, together with a borough councillor which the Mayer is to be asked to have appointed, were selected as a deputation to put the facts before the board.
It was deckled to ask the Seaside Resort Company to meet the special committee as early as possible to discuss ways and means of going on with tin; improvements. Mr. Roper was given power to call special meetings of the committee when required. No secretary is to be .ppointed until the committee h?.s met the ReSort Company. Discussion ensued on the several proposed schemes for improvement which were brought forward but which it was decided not to disclose until the committee has some definite grounds to stand on.
