TAINUI v. WHANGAMOMONA. Very keen interest is being taken by supporters of both sub-unions in the match that has been arranged to fake place at Stratford to-morrow between Tainui and Whangamomona. The game between these teams last year proved full of interest, and to-morrow’s game promises to be even more interesting, as both teams are considerably improved this year, both as regards individual players and combination. Each will have plenty of-supporters, as a special train will take practically every resident from out east into the central Taranaki town, whilst many cars from the Tainui district will take their quota. JUNIOR GRADE FINALS. THE PLAY-OFFS ARRANGED. The next week should see all the junior competitions in Taranaki brought to finality, and arrangements have nowbeen made definitely fixing the finals. In the junior grade Haw-era, winners of the southern sub-division, meet Okaiawa, w-inners of the western sub-divi-sion, at Manaia to-morrow- to decide the winner of the southern division, who will meet Star, the winners of the northern division, at Stratford on August 24, to decide the second semi-final. The winner of this match will meet Inglewood later to decide the provincial championship. In the third grade Stratford Technical High School, who won the semifinal yesterday, will meet Old Boys, winners of the northern division, on Saturday, August 24,- playing as a cur-tain-raiser to the Wanganui-Taranaki match at New Plymouth. The fourth grade final will be played at New Plymouth to-morrow, when Xaponga, w-inners of the southern division, and Star, winners of the northern division, will play as a curtain-raiser to the Te Aute College match.
