CANCER TREATMENT

THE FLUORESCIN METHOD. Capetown, Aug. 8. Dr. Monckton Copeman, of the British Cancer Research Committee, in an interview to-day, said:— “The new Fluorescin treatment of cancer justifies cautious optimism, the results so far being most encouraging. The treatment involves the use of a dye substance known as activated Fluorescin.

“The method is to treat the patient with this substance, then to give very gradual doses of X-ray and radium. The result is that wave lengths between the ultra-violet and the X-ray are produced, which burn away the cancerous growth as soon as they make contact.” The treatment, Dr. Copeman said, prolongs life .and alleviates pain.
