PACIFIC DOCTORS CONFER
PERMANENT SOCIETY IN VIEW.
By Telegraph—Tress Assn.—Copyright. Received Aug. 15, 5.5 p.m. Honolulu, Aug. 14. The pan-Pacific surgical conference has opened. Nino Australian and two .New Zealand delegates are present. The Hawaiian band played the National Anthems of all the countries represented while costumed representatives of the Pacific peoples marched in procession carrying flags. Mr. Riley Allen, president of the Chamber of Commerce, Mr, Wallace Farrington, president of the pan-Pacifie Union, and Mr. Alexander Ford, a director, welcomed the delegates. Dr. Ralph Worrall responded for the Australian College of Surgeons, Dr. W. A. Osborne for the branch of the British Medical Association and Dr. Hardie Neil for New Zealand. The regular sessions will start on Thursday. Delegates hope a permanent organisation in the Pacific will result from the conference.
