CHIEF OF POLICE ARRESTED
CHICAGO PROHIBITION SENSATION HUNDRED AND FIFTY DETAINED. By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received August 15, 8.40 p.m. Sun Cable. New York, August 14. A hundred and fifty men and women, including the Mayor and chief of police of East Chicago, have been arrested by prohibition agents who raided scores of “speak-easies” along the lake front. Thirty girls were arrested for tending bars, mostly in their parents’ bootleging operations Thousands of gallons of beer and alcohol were seized.
