NORTH TARANAKI ACTIVITIES. The monthly committee meeting of the New Plymouth branch of the Plunket Society was held at Piunket House on Monday. 'There were present: Mesdames I. M. Kidd (in the chair), T. Wilson, A. King, D. LeC. Morgan, J. L. Mander, F. H. Moore, J. Scanlon, C. E. Williams, E. Shaw, Franklyn White, W. C. Weston, J. S. Church, F. H. Cholmeley, C. E. Roebuck, W. J. Reid, P. V. Stainton, A. H. Featherstone, W. B. Hosking, and the honorary secretary and treasurer (Mrs. C. 8. Mayer). Apologies for absence were received from Mesdames F. H. Masters, W. Brodie and T. Drake.

The president, on behalf of the committee, extended a welcome to Mrs. W. B. Hosking, a new member. The nurses’ report for the month of July was as follows: —Number of babies on list, old 417, new 31; breast-fed, 19; supplemented, 6; artificially fed, 6; visits to homes, 356; visits to rooms, adults 444, babies 303; older children, 101; advice to expectant mothers, 13; telephone calls, 119; letters written and received, 26; advice on domestic hygiene, 98; older children still under supervision, 267; emulsion used, 891b5.. Rahotu; Two visits, 41 old babies, 3 new. Waitara: Four visits; 67 old babies, 4 new. Mesdames C, E. Roebuck, W. J. Reid, P. V.' Stain ton and J. Scanlon were appointed to the floral decorations from August 19 to September 14. / The treasurer submitted the financial statement showing a credit balance with money in the Savings Bank totalling £552 "16s 7d, and accounts, including nurses’ salaries, head office expenses, etc., totalling £ll6 7s sd, were passed for payment. Arrangements were made for the children’s plain and fancy dress ball to be held in the Agricultural Hall on the afternoon of Frid..y, September 6. As the music would be provided by McNeill’s orchestra the children were assured of a jolly time and it was hoped mothers would bring their kiddies along and so ensure the success of the junction and help swell the funds of. ie society.
