REPRESENTATIVE FIXTURES. TARANAKI TEAMS ENGAGED. APPOINTMENT OF REFEREES. The Taranaki Hockey Referees’ Association has appointed referees to control the following games:— Wanganui v. Taranaki ladies, at Hawera to-morrow, Mr. C. J. McFadyen. Wanganui v. Taranaki men, at Wanganui to-morrow, Mr. H. Nodder. Rovers v. Pihama, at Hawera to-moi-row, Messrs. V. Warner and C. Davies. Otakeho v. Kaponga (final Taranaki championship), at Hawera Wednesday, Messrs. D. Burgees and C. MeFadyen. Owing to the p'lay-off between Rovers and Pihama to-morrow, no players from these teams have been selected in the representative team. Owing to players selected being unavailable, the following will now represent Taranaki men against Wanganui to-morrow: Goal, P. Edwards; backs, S. McGuinness, Mcßae; half-backs, N. Simon, G. Moloney, Colson; forwards, Simmons, A. Gray, J. Surgenor, V. Betts, S. Betts. Emergencies: Backs, R. Johnson and L. Wise; forwards, Boswell and Ryan. Players must travel by Mr. Nodder’s bus, leaving Eltliani at 9 a.m. and Hawera at 9.30 a.m. TARANAKI HOCKEY ASSOCIATION MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE MEETS The management committee of the Taranaki Hockey Association met on Wednesday night at Eltham. Present: Messrs, I. J. Bridger (chairman), H. C. Johnson (Stratford), D. Burgess (Hawera), V. Betts (Kaponga), K. Pennington (Eltham), and E. Urry (secretary). . T*e Dannevirke Association forwarded .£2 10s for the travelling expenses of the referee who controlled the match at Dannevirke between Taranaki and ivjunevirke. also stating that a team

would be sent to Taranaki on August 28 to play a representative team from Taranaki. It was decided to play the match at Hawera, and Messrs. Burgess, McFadyen and Urry were appointed a committee to make arrangements in connection with the visit. Mr. H. C. Johnson was appointed referee for the match. It was decided to conduct the championship play-off between Otakeho and Kaponga on the Hawera ground on Wednesday next. Mangatoki club wrote protesting against the referee’s decision in connection with the game played recently against Otakeho. After hearing evidence it was decided that the protest be not upheld. Mr. Boswell, representing the Eltham Club, attended and submitted the bal-ance-sheet of the ball arranged by the Eltham Club for the purpose of entertaining the Australian team. The total ; proceeds of the ball were £6l 16s 9d; and the expenses £44 18s Hd. leaving a profit of approximately £8 10s for the Taranaki Association. It was decided to thank the Eltham Club for its action in entertaining and accommodating the Australian team, and also for the donation of' £Blos.
