THE RUGBY FINAL. (To the Editor). Sir, —A couple of weexs gc representatives from all football duos in Taranaki met at Inglewood to listen to a grievance from some soatheui delegates about the hard times they were experiencing owing to the Rugby Union’s grudging policy regarding gate money allocations. Then the management committee, by a majority vote from the south end decided to give the Rugby final to Elthara, thus robbing the union funds of the difference in gates (probably £100) and the extra travelling expenses entailed. Surely if lhe two teams concerned wish the play off at New Plymouth, if the public giv'c their patronage in the usual ritio of North-South gates, as shown by returns for y-Tis, and the Rugby Union are in need of easy money, here is the chance to plesfce everyone. But, no; the south were evidently determined “regardless” to use their weight, io the Rugby final is to be played where she cost of staging the games will be the highest and the leturns the lowest. Can sou beat it?---I am, etc., • - “ACID."
