COUNTY COUNCIL NOTICES. COUNTY OF TARANAKI. SPECIAL ORDER AUTHORISING RAISING OF WELD ROAD LOAN OF £4OO. by Councellor J. Connett:— That in pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it by Section 17 "Local Bodies Loans Act, 1926, and of all other acts and powers (if any) it in that behalf enabling and with tho consent of the ratepayers of the Weld Road Special Rating District of tho County of Taranaki testified by a petition signed by not less than three fourths of the ratepayers in the said Special Rating District the capital value of whose properties as appearing in the valuation roll of the said County is collectively greater than the capital value of the properties of the ratepayers who do not so consent the Taranaki County Council hereby resolves by way of special order as follows:— That the Council proceed to raise a loan of four hundred pounds for the purpose of forming and metalling the Weld Road. That such loan be called the Taranaki County Weld Road Special Rating District Loan of £4OO, 1028, That the currency of the said loan shall -be for a period of twenty-five (25) years. That the interest on the eaid loan shall not exceed six per cent, per annum, and shall be payable half yearly on the first' day of April and October in each and every year. That the form of security for the payment of principal and interest on the said loan shall be one debenture of four hundred pounds ( £400) and relative coupons in a form in conformity with the provisions of tho Local Bodies Loans Act, 1926. That the Council doth hereby appropriate and pledge as security for the repayment of the eaid loan and the interest sinking fund and other charges thereon tho Special Rate of one and eleven-sixteen-ths pence (1 11-16) in the pound sterling on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the Weld Road Special Rating District of the County of Taranaki. That it is proposed to provide a linking fund of two per cent. That' the cost of raising the said loan be paid out of the loan. Seconded by Councillor L. Carey and CARRIED. The foregoing resolution was passed at a Special Meeting of the Council held on Monday the let day of July, 1929, and will be submitted for confirmation at the ordinary meeting of the Council to be held at the County Chambers, Robe Street, New Plymouth, at 2 p.m., on Monday the fifth day of August, 1929. DUBLIC NOTICE is hereby given that in pursuance of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “The Rating Act, 1925” and the amendments thereto, “The Counties Act, 1920” and the amendments thereto, and the “Hospital and Charitable Institutions Act, 1926” it is the intention of the Council of the County of Egmont at the Ordinary Monthly Meeting of the Council to be held at the County Chambers, Opunake on TUESDAY, the IStli day of August, 1929, to make and levy the following rates on the Capital Value of all rate-, able property within the respective ridings of the County for the period of twelve months, from the first day of April, 1929 to the 31st day of March, 1930, namely:— OEO RIDING. A general Rate of two pence halfpenny (2£d) in the £ and a Hospital and Charitable Aid Rate of one farthing (id) in the £. OPUA RIDING. A General Rate of two and five-eighths penoe (21 5-8 d) in the £ and a Hospital and Charitable Aid Rate of one farthing (id) in the £. RAHOTU RIDING. A General rate ot two and five-eighths pence (2 5-8 d) in the £ and a Hospital and Charitable Aid Rate of one farthing (id) in the £. NEWAL RIDING. A General Rate of two pence halfpenny (2Jd) in the £ and a Hospital and Charitable Aid Rate of one farthing (id) in the £. And that such rates shall become due and be payable in one sum, at the County Office, Opunake, on the 13th day of August, 1929, to. the County Clerk and Treasurer.
