TEMPORARY LIGHT AT KAHURANGI The Marine Department reports that the Kahurangi Point light 1 , which was destroyed by the earthquake on June 17, will be temporarily replaced on or about July 31, by a flashing light, showing on flash every eight seconds. The height of the light and the red sector over the Kahurangi Shoal will be unaltered. The light will have a visibility of approximately ten miles, and its arc of visibility may be found to be less than that of the destroyed light. Further information regarding this will be issued when the temporary light has been installed. COASTAL MOVEMENTS. The Corinna is due at New Plymouth to-day from Dunedin, via ports, and will return to Wellington and Dunedin, where she is te re-load on Monday for New Plymouth, via ports. She is due about August 4. The Poolta. is to load at Timaru today for Lyttelton, Wellington and New Plymouth, where she is due on Tuesday. She will proceed from New Plymouth to Westport and Greymouth. (U.S.S. Co.).

The Katoa is expected at New Plymouth from Westport on Tuesday and will proceed to Westport and Greymouth later. (U.S.S. Co.). The John is expected at New Plymouth from Lyttelton and Wellington to-day and should sail to-morrow for Port Waikato and Lyttelton where she will undergo overhaul. (Holm and Co.). The Progress left Dunedin yesterday for Timaru, Lyttelton, Wellington and New Plymouth. She is due on Wednesday and proceeds to Port Waikato. (Hohn and Co.). NEW PLYMOUTH—ONEHUNGA FERRY. The Ngapuhi is expected at New Plymouth to-morrow morning from Onehunga, having been delayed a day at New Plymouth on her last trip. She is to return to-morrow night and is due at New Plymouth again on Tuesday morning. PORT ALMA DUE AT WELLINGTON An expected arrival at Wellington today is the Port Alma, from London,with cargo for discharge at that port and at Auckland and New Plymouth. The vessel is due at New Plymouth about August 9 and it is thought she will proceed to Australia to load. ARLINGTON COURT DESPATCHED. The Arlington Court left Galveston on Wednesday with a cargo of sulphur for Auckland, Lyttelton, Dunedin, New Plymouth and Wanganui, according to a cable message received.
