The major portion of New South Wales is experiencing one of the most severe droughts ever recorded. There is not a blade of grass for hundreds of miles in the western divisions and the stock is being kept alive by hand feeding. Intense cold is killing sheep and cattle.

■Wheat farmers are everywhere in dire straits and being forced to ask the Government for help to tide them over the difficult period. Tho Government is considering a scheme for general relief of needy farmers and pastoralists.
