RECORD FOR SCHOOL RUGBY

BIG SCORES AT THAMES VALLEY.

By Telegraph.—Press Association.

Thames, July 24.

What is claimed as a record has been achieved by the boys of Hikutaia, Thames Valley, school in the primary football schools’ competition, which was brought to a close last Saturday by Hikutaia defeating United Paeroa by 51 to nil.

The matches played have resulted: — 40 to nil, 37 to nil, 26 to nil, 43 to nil, a total of 197 points to nil, an average of 39.4 for each.

This school won the shield for the first time last year, also being undefeated throughout the competition. The result shows how well the boys respond to careful and consistent teaching along orthodox lines.
