GENERAL AND PERSONAL ITEMS.

A euchre and dance party was held in the Upper Mangorei Hall on Friday night. The ladies’ prize was w r on by Mrs. King, Carrington Road, and the men’s by Mr. Morris, Lower Mangorei. The booby prizes were won by Miss D. Pearce and Mr. A. Carter.
Owing to its being a farewell evening to Mr. and Mrs. Wadsworth and family, who are leaving the district to reside at Rahotu, there was a large attendance. Mr. and Mrs. Wadsworth received a travelling rug and eiderdown, and the other members of the family received souvenirs. Mr. Pearce made the presentations. After euchre a dance was held, music being supplied by Mrs. King. Mr. Reid fulfilled the duties of master of ceremonies. Mr. Fred Knauf has returned from a holiday at Te Kuiti. Mr. and Mrs. G. Jackson are spending a holiday at Christchurch. Mr. F. Haidwidge has been removed to the New Plymouth hospital owing to a severe attack of influenza.
