United Service. London, July 22. Within fifty years it will be possible to fly to. Australia in 24 hours, says Mr. H. V. Roe, a pioneer in aviation. “We are only at the beginning bf aviation achievement',” he said. “Within 50 years flight from England to Australia in under 24 hours will be a commonplace. Machines will travel at tremendous .speeds in the upper atmosphere, all flying at an altitude aeroplanes today can only reach with difficulty. “Aeroplanes will travel like rockets at 400 miles an hour. Already we are designing machines which will reach their maximum power at an altitude of 24.000 feet.
“In the future passengers will travel in hermetically sealed cabins, thus maintaining the normal air pressure of nine pounds per foot. Air travel will supersede other forms of travel because it will be more comfortable. The safest method will be by using multipleengined amphibians.
