DISTILLATION OF COAL
LARGE SCOTTISH PLANT OPENED, By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. ’ Received July 21, 5.5 p.m. London, July 20. The largest coal distillation plant la the world has been.started at Glenhoig, Lanarkshire., It will consume upwards of 700 tons of coal daily. The extract therefrom will be twenty million cubic feet of gas, twenty thousand gallons of oil, and 450 tons of smokeless fuel. ’ The promoters say this may make Glasgow'Great Britain’s first smokeless city.
