“AMAZING -INDIFFERENCE"
UNIQUE AERIAL EXHIBITION ‘SHAMEFUL PUBLIC NEGLECT’ ENGLISH INADAPTABILITY By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. Australian Press Association. London, July 19. Failure threatens the air exhibition, owing to the amazing public indifference. The daily attendance has not averaged 5000. An American authority told a Herald correspondent that a similar show would arouse the wildest enthusiasm in the United States. Foreigners express the opinion that the exhibition is far ahead of the European displays. A Press representative wandered through the almost deserted aisles of Olympia which were filled with disappointed and broken-hearted exhibitors.
The organisers told the Daily News that Lord Thompson sharply criticised the shameful neglect of the unique collection valued at hundreds of thousands sterling. Foreigners are most interested in aviation and must get a strange impression of British inadaptability to new developments in transportation.
