SOUTHERN CROSS FLIGHTS
ENTHUSIASM AT AMSTERDAM. SAFE ATLANTIC ROUTE CHOSEN. By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. United Service. Amsterdam, July 19. Two Dutch air squadrons met the Southern Cross, which landed, at 11.30 a.m. The civil authorities welcomed the airmen. Squadron-Leader Kingsford Smith and Flight-Lieutenant C. T. P. Ulm had a triumphant progress through the streets, which were lined by thousands of enthusiastic spectators. Squadron-Leader Kingsford Smith, in an interview, said that he would cross the Atlantic, using the safe route from Dakar to Pernambuco.
