PRESENTATION TO T. P. O’CONNOR. Rugby, July 18. Mr. T. P. O’Connor, “father of the House of Commons.” was the recipient this afternoon of the deeds of an annuity of the capital value of £lO,OOO which has been subscribed by his friend® and colleagues in both Houses. -j: • The ceremony, which took place on th® terrace of the Houses of Parliament, was presided over, by the Prime Minister* who made the presentation, and the speakers included Messrs. Stanley Baldwin and Lloyd George,and Lord BirkenBy a clause in the trust the capital will upon Mr. O’Connor’s death be used to found a scholarship. Mr. O'Connor, who has been a member of” the House of Commons since 1885, is 81 years old. He is still engaged in journalistic work.
